Across the county, agencies and nonprofits are documenting homelessness as it is experienced for one night of the year: Wed, Jan 22. The information we gather translates into funds to offer emergency assistance, such as Carroll County's budget for Cold Weather Emergency Shelter program.
We are asking people who will be sleeping in places not designed for human habitation, such as cars, unheated spaces like sheds, outdoor camping sites, etc. to participate in the Point in Time Count on Thursday, Jan 23. We will offer $10 Dunkin' Donuts cards to people who call the Way Station's special Point in Time number (603) 307-0472 on Thursday, (1/23) to tell us where you spent the night on Wednesday night (1/22). This offer is strictly for folks who had an un-sheltered experience]. To qualify, you will need to answer some other questions, but your responses are anonymous and confidential. Come by 15 Grove St, North Conway on Thursday for hot beverages, soup, warmth, and a chance to help us learn more about your experience!
Whether you participate through the Way Station or another nonprofit such as White Horse or North Conway Peer Support Center, your contributions help us provide more assistance in future seasons!
