We are very grateful to Raymond Gallant for volunteering to be Way Station's Candidate for the 2025 Valley Mr. Pageant! As a long-time friend and supporter of Way Station, Ray shared a few reasons why he stepped up to the plate for Valley Mr.
I learned about the Way Station through my wife Kim. I did a short volunteer stint there with Kim when I was out of work right after Covid. It is a great organization to volunteer for since they help so many people in the community. The care and concern demonstrated by these endeavors the Way Station imparts to others gives me hope for our future. So I feel it is my duty to help others when I can. I'm simply inspired by the ability to give back and help others!
What is the reason you felt inspired to represent Way Station for the Valley Mr. contest?
Witnessing the positive impact of helping others and seeing people overcome adversity is what motivates both Kim and I.
Making authentic connections. Having genuine human connection is the most basic of human desires. We spend most of our waking hours working and as able bodied people and leaders, one of our key focus areas, more than ever, is to create a sense of belonging for our community and those who need help during some of their lowest times.
I continually seek opportunities to improve myself and my family. I am driven by problem-solving and innovation. The challenge of designing sustainable solutions to help others excites me. I get inspired by people who have turned hardships into opportunities. Their perseverance motivates me to approach challenges with optimism and persistence.
